BWU Officers Returned

The President General of the Barbados Workers’ Union, Comrade Linda Brooks, the Treasurer, Comrade Washbrook Bayne and the three vice Presidents, Comrades Carol Boyce, Howard Griffith and Shawn Knight, have been returned to office without opposition. There will however be a contest for the 18 seats on the Executive Council of the Union by twenty-nine members when the B.W.U.’s  two-day 76th Annual Delegates’ Conference, commences at “Solidarity House” on Saturday, August 26. The conference ends on Saturday, September 2.

The twenty-nine members who represent a cross-section of economic activity in Barbados are: O’Neal Adams, Madeleine Blenman, Frederick Bovell, Basil Brathwaite, Wesley Chase, Caleb Clarke, Henry Codrington, Heather Coward-Downes, Clifford Cox, Jeffrey D. Grant, Cindy Greaves-Gibson, Grantley Green, Janice Griffith, Milton. D. Griffith, Carlton Hope, Sharmari Inniss, Kent Jerson, Kim Lascelles, Geoffrey Mapp, Jefferson Nicholls, Curtis Padmore, Alphonso Pollard, Gerard Prescod, Desmond Roach, Winston Roach, David Sandiford, Jason Springer, Dale Williams and Dexter Young.

The Trustees are – Hugh Arthur and Lemuel Daniel, former Presidents General and Ethrill Crichlow, a former Vice President.
