|BWU Retirees' Seminar|

As part of its on-going training for its members, the Barbados Workers’ Union, in association with the Ministry of Health, will be conducting a seminar/workshop for its Retirees on the theme “Living Healthy in Retirement” at the BWU Labour College in Mangrove, St. Philip from Monday, November 8th to Friday November 17th, 2015.
The seminar is aimed at providing the retirees with information which is aimed at empowering them to use preventive measures such as nutrition and physical activity to live healthier lives. Presentations will be made on health issues such as Non-Communicable Diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Living with Diabetes, Physical Activity, Mental Health and Ageing and Nutrition. A nutritionist will also give a demonstration on preparing healthy and nutritious foods. In addition, Mr. Ed Bushel, the President of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) will speak to the group on issues such as reverse mortgages, home security, among other issues.
